18 Owls Press is a small broadside press based in Providence, RI

Its main inspirations are a love of print/print-art and special print-editions, an obsessive fascination for the way words are arranged on a page, and eighteen owls recently seen in the wilds of upstate New York.

Also, the single, stand-alone poem, the smell of bookstores and print shops, the life of objects, the many broadsides I’ve received from friends and at readings, friendship, Argentine independent presses, Buenos Aires, public art and public, independent libraries, ink-mixing, coffee, etc.

Each broadside is made in limited edition and is printed on the letterpress using handset metal type or a custom-made polymer plate.

Each is sold for $10 + the cost of shipping.

The idea is that in this press’ life there will be 18 broadsides.
